Weld Extrusion / Weld Monitor
Weld extrusion is defined as the amount of material flow during welding. In order to obtain sufficient welding, one is looking at 0,15 to 0,25 mm extrusion for 0,20 mm substance tinplate. Weld thickness for the same thickness tinplate should be around 1,5 x material thickness. If the substance of the material is 0,21 mm, weld thickness should be in the region of 0,31 mm. Weld monitors used in the welding process should be set up based on extrusion levels. Once the weld quality has been established, the weld monitor can be adjusted to monitor the weld quality and to detect any variation from the set point. Any views on this? less
