The Historic Truth! - John Jenner - 17-06-2016 09:26 AM I received this little canny historical snippet from my friend Neil: "The Canning Industry is Celebrating 200 years since the invention of the Tin Can, but I understand it took more than 50 Years to invent the CAN OPENER. Thats what I call frustration!!! They forgot to reveal that it was the Lead solder on the cans that poisoned the Crews on the Frankin Expedition , trying to find the North West Passage . The man who succeeded in discovering the fate of the Crew and the NorthWest Passage was an Orcadian . John Rae who was working amongst the Native Canadians and who is celebrated by a very fine monument inside St Magnus Cathedral." Neil is an Orcadian. |
